Step-by-Step Guide
1. Place the Boot Amount
All players contribute an agreed amount (boot) to the pot before cards are dealt. This creates the initial prize pool.
2. Receive Your Cards
The dealer distributes 3 cards face-down to each player, going clockwise around the table.
3. Play Blind or Seen
Choose to play "blind" (without looking at cards) for lower bets, or "seen" (after viewing cards) for strategic play.
4. Bet or Fold
On your turn, either match/raise the current bet (Chaal) or fold if your hand is weak. Blind players bet half of seen players.
5. Showdown
When only two players remain, either can request a show. Cards are revealed and the best hand wins the pot!
Hand Rankings (Highest to Lowest)
Three cards of same rank. Example: A-A-A (highest) to 2-2-2 (lowest)
Three consecutive cards of same suit. Example: A-2-3 of hearts
Three consecutive cards of different suits. Example: 5-6-7 mixed suits
Three cards of same suit, not in sequence. Example: 2-6-K of spades
Two cards of same rank. Example: K-K-7 (A-A-X is highest pair)
No matching cards. Highest card wins. A-K-J is the best high card hand.
Key Terms
Boot
The minimum stake each player puts in before the game starts.
Blind
Playing without looking at your cards. Requires betting half the current stake.
Chaal
The act of betting after seeing your cards. Must be at least the current stake.
Pack / Fold
Giving up your hand and exiting the round. You lose your contributed bets.
Show
Requesting to compare cards with the last remaining opponent.
Sideshow
Comparing cards with previous player. The weaker hand must fold.
